Below are the boys’ school pictures. These will be sent out shortly to those who it’s important to receive them.
Tonight I was playing wow, when a dear friend of mine told me that his wife had just suffered a miscarriage. It brought flooding back to me, memories of my own miscarriage. I want nothing more than to console his wife, after all I KNOW what it’s like to feel the pain of the loss of a baby.
Anyway it got me thinking, and I scrounged around till I found a poem I wrote when it first happened (May 1999, although I don’t recall when I wrote the poem, sometime in the next year or so).
I did a google and found my poem listed as “Author Anonymous” but I assure you I wrote this poem.
Without further ado, here it is:
I Miss You Little One
I miss your laughter
Although I’ve never heard it
I miss your warm hugs
Even though I’ve never felt them
I miss watching you dance
Even though it never happened
I miss your kiss
Although I haven’t had one
I miss our talks
Even though we have never directly spoken
I miss watching you sleep
Although you never dreamt in my house
I miss waiting for you to come home from school
Even though you’re never gone
I miss kissing your scrapes
Although you’ve never been hurt
I miss you little one.
Given that my mother-in-law has lost almost all her photos due to sewer backup, I started looking through what I had and found these. I know I also have hard copies at home I will have to scan in.
Had a great time this weekend. Brad went to Madison for the Badger game so we all hung out at Bumper’s house.
Ryan was wiped on Sunday after a long day of playing so he crashed on the computer room floor. Cleveland also apparently thought it was a great idea, and let Ryan use him as an ottoman.
I have added a ton of photos to an Ashten gallery at Flickr. These photos cover the last 8-10 years or so and are completely random. I thought about making them more organized but there are so many, so instead I labeled them to give an idea of when the photo was taken.
