Fourth of July 2009

For the 4th of July this year we decided to head to Wisconsin Dells.  We stayed at the Wilderness on the Lake Resort which is on Lake Delton (it has water again!).  Was a ton of fun, we spent the weekend with my mother, sister Vanessa, and her boyfriend Jeff.

Halloween 2008

So Halloween this year has come and gone. I happen to LOVE Halloween, which gets shared with my boys.

This year we went trick-or-treating with some of our good friends and their children. Tanner wasn’t feeling so hot so we didn’t go for very long, but the kids had an awesome time regardless.

Tanner was a ninja and Ryan was Iron Man, I dressed up as my blood elf Clover. Ashten spent the evening with some of his friends and was not out with us.

I Miss You Little One

Tonight I was playing wow, when a dear friend of mine told me that his wife had just suffered a miscarriage. It brought flooding back to me, memories of my own miscarriage. I want nothing more than to console his wife, after all I KNOW what it’s like to feel the pain of the loss of a baby.

Anyway it got me thinking, and I scrounged around till I found a poem I wrote when it first happened (May 1999, although I don’t recall when I wrote the poem, sometime in the next year or so).

I did a google and found my poem listed as “Author Anonymous” but I assure you I wrote this poem.

Without further ado, here it is:

I Miss You Little One

I miss your laughter
Although I’ve never heard it
I miss your warm hugs
Even though I’ve never felt them
I miss watching you dance
Even though it never happened
I miss your kiss
Although I haven’t had one
I miss our talks
Even though we have never directly spoken
I miss watching you sleep
Although you never dreamt in my house
I miss waiting for you to come home from school
Even though you’re never gone
I miss kissing your scrapes
Although you’ve never been hurt

I miss you little one.

Down on the Farm – Wisconsin Rapids

This weekend, the boys (even Cleveland) and I wenti to Wisconsin Rapids to see my mom. While there we visited Down on the Farm…a family run farm business that has a nice Halloween event for kids. It was a great time.
